Mardi Gras! Galveston’s FREE Seawall parades continued in 2014! The following parades rolled down the seawall:

1st Weekend

Mystic Krewe of Aquarius & Krewe of Gambrinus Parades Headed Downtown -
A Mardi Gras! Galveston first! See for yourself as these two great Mardi Gras Krewes take to Galveston’s Entertainment District!
Non-stop action with live music, over 20 parades and balcony parties!

Saturday, February 7th, 2015

12:00pm- Mystic Krewe of Aquarius Kick-Off Parade
Mystic Krewe of Aquarius 30th annual Mardi Gras Parade "The Lights of Broadway"- 12:00 noon. One of Mardi Gras premiere parades will begin at 57th street and Seawall at 12 noon and making it's way downtown to the Strand Entertainment District. The olorful family parade will be lead by our spectacular Royal Court, Krewe members & 10 Aquarius floats. The 30th annual parade will also feature over 50 units including 15 high stepping marching bands and dance teams. for the most and best beads do not miss this big parade. For more information go to

6:00pm- Krewe of Gambrinus Parade -
Krewe of Gambrinus Lights up the Night Parade – 6:00pm. King Gambrinus throws a party for 300,000 of his closest friends with over 650,000 throws. Searchlights will “Light Up the Night” as the parade processes down Seawall blvd from 57th Street to 25th Street (Rosenberg Avenue), then heads North on Rosenberg Avenue as Gambrinus Goes to Town in the fabulous Mardi Gras! Galveston Entertainment district. Mechanic Street and The Famous Strand will be packed with revelers who will enjoy the 12 Lighted Floats and Marching Bands as well as many other entries. Don’t miss this year as King Gambrinus XXV and HRH the Queen celebrate the Silver Anniversary.

2nd Weekend

Saturday, February 14th, 2015

11:00am - Krewe d’Esprit Rosaire Parade - The Krewe’s annual festivities begins at 9am at the Public School Stadium Parking lot, 27th & Ave L., with the back by popular demand “Battle of the Bands”, to include local and Houston area bands. The Parade will present Krewe Royalty, motorcycle groups, drill teams, dancers, ROTC, boats and much more, and will kick off at 11am from Kempner Park, 27th and Ave N. From there, it proceeds to Seawall, down Seawall,  right onto 31st street, down Ave N, left onto 27th and end at Jack Johnson Park – 27th and Avenue M.
At Jack Johnson Park, immediately following parade, the “Yard Party” will begin! More bead throwing, more music and food and drinks for sale and plenty of FUN! Come out and join us for a day full of family-friendly outings. Info:

6:30pm- Knights of Momus Grand Night Parade - Mardi Gras! Galveston’s largest parade will feature floats, marching bands, dignitaries, bead throwing and more. Parade starts at 23rd and Seawall Boulevard, turns right on 25th Street and continues to Mechanic Street. Right on Mechanic Street to 21st Street, left on 21st to The Strand. Left on Strand and end at the Railroad Museum.

Sunday, February 15th, 2015

1:00pm- Krewe of Barkus & Meoux Parade - Bringing out the best in people and their pets, this parade begins at 28th and Seawall and proceeds west to 47thStreet, to the Academy parking lot. Pets of all sizes, shapes, and species are welcome (costumes optional). Registration begins at 11:00am and the pre- parade costume contest begins at 11:30, with the winners making up the Royal Court. read more

2:00pm- Mardi Gras Children’s Parade - Firefighters Local 571 hosts a parade dedicated to the families and children of Galveston. The 2011 parade marches on with costumed kids and decorated floats. Begins at 27th Street and Seawall, and proceeds to 47th Street to the Academy parking lot.
